To register TOAD 9x on all of your licensed computers and stop users getting nagged for registration info the first time they run it, register it by entering in your Authorization Key and passphrase on one computer, then copy 'c: Program Files Quest Software Toad for Oracle QSAuth11.key' to the same location on the target computers (either using a transform if you're repackaging, or however you want to do it).
Note FYI - Toad for Oracle 9.0.1 has just been released. To run the silent install: From the command line, run the install using this format: C:download folder ToadforOracle90Setup /S Note: The trailing S must be a capital letter. Running the Silent Install Once you have created your configuration file and saved it in the same folder as the executable, you can run the silent install. If performing an upgrade (UPGRADE=B) the LICENSEKEY and LICENSEMSG values will be ignored. Upon initial launch, Toad will then copy this file locally. Configuration Variables INSTALLTYPE A - Full local install B - Network install, client side (should install server side first) C - Network install, server side D - Citrix install UPGRADE A - New install B - Upgrade from previous version INSTALLDIR Destination folder for install NETWORKDIR Destination folder for server side install When silently installing a client/server setup the server side (install type 'C') should be run first. You can copy as many variations of installvalues.ini as you'd like, but at runtime the installer only looks for installvalues.ini. INSTALLATION INSTALLTYPE=A UPGRADE=A INSTALLDIR=C: Program Files Quest Software Toad for Oracle9.0 NETWORKDIR KXPERT=A SQLOPTIMIZER=A TOADSHORTCUT=YES LICENSEKEY= LICENSEMSG= Enter the values to the right of the '=' and save the file. This is the file where the installer will look to find configuration variables. Silent Install Configuration To create a configuration file: Create a file called installvalues.ini in the same folder as the installation executable.
